What is Physea, and what does it actually make?
Physea is a software company (Physea Labs, Incorporated). It builds three things: Cohesyn, an infinite-canvas workspace for your whole life; Sia, a personal AI model that runs on your own machine and adapts to you; and Liminality, infrastructure that gives AI agents tested routes for getting work done. The shared idea is that the tool should bend to you, not the other way around.
People ask whether Physea is an app, a model, or an AI company. It’s a company that makes three separate things, and they don’t all do the same job. Here’s the honest map.
What does Physea actually build?
Physea Labs makes three products. They share one belief: software should fit how a real mind works instead of forcing you to adapt to it. But they’re genuinely different tools, and you can pick from them.
| Product | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Cohesyn | An infinite-canvas workspace for tasks, goals, habits, notes, and calendar, all on one surface | Available now, free plan |
| Sia | A personal AI model that runs on your own machine and keeps adapting to your work | Pre-order |
| Liminality | Infrastructure that gives AI agents proven routes for completing real tasks | Early access, for builders |
If you only remember one distinction: Cohesyn is something you use; Sia is a model you own; Liminality is plumbing for developers.
What is Cohesyn?
Cohesyn is a workspace built around an infinite canvas. Instead of juggling a calendar in one app, tasks in another, and notes in a third, you put modular widgets on a single surface and connect them. A built-in AI named Kaya learns your patterns over time. Most people start here, because it has a free plan and works in the browser today.
If you want the deep version, read how Physea’s pricing and ownership work. Cohesyn is a subscription, which makes it the odd one out among Physea’s products.
What is Sia?
Sia is a personal AI model that installs on your own computer. The weights, your conversation history, and the data it learns from all live on your machine. No shared cloud does the thinking. The longer you use it, the more it adapts to your voice and your work. It’s a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it’s the only Physea model open for pre-order right now.
We wrote a whole article on what Sia is and whether your data stays private, because that’s the question almost everyone asks first.
What is Liminality?
Liminality is the most behind-the-scenes of the three, and it’s aimed at builders rather than everyday users. Most AI agents re-figure-out how to do a task on every single run, which is slow and inconsistent. Liminality hands them a route that’s already been worked out and checked: the steps, the tools, and the order to call them in. The agent follows a known-good path instead of guessing. It’s in early access. If that’s your world, get in touch.
A note on the names
If you’ve seen older Physea material, you may have run into the name “Intuition.” That was the previous name for the personal model that’s now called Sia. There’s also a Cohesyn add-on called “Intuition 1.0,” which is a feature inside the workspace. Confusingly similar, but a different thing. We’re not pretending the naming history is tidy. It isn’t.

Common questions
- How many products does Physea make?
- Three. Cohesyn (the workspace), Sia (the on-device personal model), and Liminality (infrastructure for AI agents). You can use one on its own or use them together.
- Is Cohesyn the same thing as Sia?
- No. Cohesyn is a workspace app you can use today on a free plan. Sia is a separate AI model that runs locally on your hardware and is currently open for pre-order. They're different products.
- Is Physea free to try?
- Cohesyn has a free plan, no credit card required. Sia is a one-time purchase open for pre-order, and your card isn't charged until it ships.
