How does Physea pricing work, and is there a token meter?
Physea's pricing splits by product. Sia is a one-time purchase, starting at $999, that you own forever: no subscription, no per-token meter, because the model runs on your own hardware. Cohesyn, the workspace, is a monthly subscription with a free plan and paid tiers. Liminality sells self-serve at liminality.physea.ai. Ask packs from $5 for 20, or $75/mo. When you pre-order Sia, your card isn't charged until it ships.
Physea prices its products differently because they work differently, and one of them deliberately breaks the usual AI billing model. The headline: Sia has no token meter. Here’s what that means and where the lines are.
Why is there no token meter?
Almost every AI product you’ve paid for charges by usage: per token, per message, per API call. That’s because the model runs on the company’s servers, so every answer costs them compute, and they pass that cost to you.
Sia flips this. The model runs on your hardware. Once it’s installed, the inference happens on your machine, so there’s no per-answer cost to bill. You pay once, you own the install, and after that every prompt is free. A conversation can run as long as your hardware allows. No meter, no paywall mid-task, no forced upgrade to keep using what you bought.
That’s the whole argument for buying a model instead of renting one. Rented intelligence keeps charging. An owned model doesn’t.
What does Sia cost?
Sia is a one-time purchase. The price scales with how capable a model your hardware can hold. A bigger machine runs a bigger, deeper model.
| Tier | Price | Roughly for |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | $999 one-time | Laptops and everyday personal use |
| Larger | $1,399 one-time | Desktops and M-series Macs, deeper capability |
| Pro / Enterprise | Custom | Workstations, servers, team deployments |

What about Cohesyn?
Here’s the honest exception: Cohesyn, the workspace, is a subscription, not a one-time purchase. It’s a hosted app, so it’s priced like one. The structure:
- Free: $0 forever. The infinite canvas, core widgets, and a couple of connectors. No credit card.
- Paid tiers: monthly plans that add the full widget set, more AI actions, and more connectors.
- Founder: a limited lifetime option for people who want everything, including in-development features.
The paid tiers include a monthly AI-action allowance rather than a per-token charge. So it’s a flat fee with a bucket of usage, not a meter ticking on every keystroke. Every plan starts with a free trial and you can cancel anytime.
And Liminality?
Liminality sells self-serve. There’s a public storefront at liminality.physea.ai where you buy ask packs:
- $5 for 20 asks
- $22 for 100 asks
- $125 for 1,000 asks
- $75/mo for a monthly subscription
You pay through Stripe and your API key is emailed to you automatically. To connect it, run claude mcp add liminality. No sales call needed. If you’re building agents and want to talk anyway, email us.
When am I actually charged for a pre-order?
Not on the day you reserve. When you pre-order Sia, your card is saved but not charged until your install is built and ready to deliver. You can get a full refund any time before delivery. More on that, and the privacy side, in what is Sia, and is my data private.
